Sassi San Cristoforo vineyards extend over a surface area of 3.2 hectares spread between the municipalities of Neive, Treiso and San Rocco Seno d’Elvio. The total production is between 12.000 and 14.000 bottles, depending on the vintage.
Handmade
Barbaresco wines are mainly produced with grapes grown on the hill of San Cristoforo, one of the most valuable sub-areas in the municipality of Neive. The philosophy of the owner David Carniel is to follow every step of the wine-making, dealing with “… every vine plant as if it were the only one, and every drop of wine as if it were the last …” so to give a real “handmade” wine.
“Growing great grapes is the only way to get a great wine” that’s why in the vineyard, low yields are combined with low impact environmental farming techniques, in order to have the best quality while respecting the environment. In the cellar, traditional winemaking methods are combined with modern winemaking technology.
